Emotional Control by Increasing your Emotional Literacy!
If you want to find you are better able to manage your emotions, you need to get better at recognizing and naming them.
Most of us have a limited emotion or feeling word vocabulary. We resort to the same few words to describe how we are feeling: Annoyed, irritated, sad and happy may be your go-to words. Maybe yours are a bit different, but my guess is you stick to the same basic few words to describe how you are feeling.
When you increase the number of words you can use to describe your emotions and feelings, you get better able to really understand what's going on inside and manage what's going on outside of you. In essence, a larger emotional vocabulary gives you increased emotional control.
